The 2012 Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy took place on May 27th and was another huge success! This year marked the 5th anniversary of the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. The weather was perfect for what turned out to be an amazing day. Over 200 people from the surrounding communities joined in this year's Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. Once again the Walk gained the support from the local community. As a member of this year's planning committee we are so thankful for Jack Astor’s in Whitby who has been a long time supporter of the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. Along with Jack Astor’s we have to thank SeRVe Photography and Mackie Harley-Davidson in Oshawa for their support. I want to thank both of them for supporting such an important community event. We also can’t forget all the volunteers who donated their time to help make the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy a great success. In total this year’s Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy helped to raise over $29,000 in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s efforts to make a difference in the lives of Canadian’s living with neuromuscular disorders. I am so proud to be involved in a community event like the Walk for Muscular Dystrophy.
This year Team Brad celebrated its 3rd year of being a part of the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. I am happy to announce that thanks to the generosity and kindness of so many great people Team Brad was able to raise over $900 in support of the efforts of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. As a young man living with Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy I can’t tell you how proud I am of Team Brad’s efforts. Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate and raise funds in support of Team Brad in the 2012 Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. Here's a few photos from the Walk which were taken courtesy of SeRVe Photography of Team Brad at the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy.

What I enjoy the most about being involved in the Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy is the fact that it helps to unite those of us living with neuromuscular disorders. It is also great having the opportunity to meet new people and join with the local community. At this time I would like to thank everyone who joined us at this year's Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy especially the sponsors. Thank you for playing a vital part in making a difference in the lives of people like me who are living with Muscular Dystrophy.

Here's a few more pictures from the 2012 Durham Region Walk for Muscular Dystrophy.
